Nikki Haley to Announce for President February 15

On February 15, former governor Nikki Haley will make her presidential run official at a gathering in Charleston. The first Republican to challenge President Trump for the party’s nomination would be Haley. After the midterm elections in November of last year, Trump declared his candidacy.

The rumors around Haley have gotten louder.

Former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley will formally declare her candidacy for president and seek the Republican nomination for her party’s 2024 ticket, cementing what has been in the works for months.

The Shed at the Charleston Visitor Center in downtown Charleston, an outdoor but covered meeting place that might pull hundreds of supporters into the center of the city’s tourism district, is where Haley’s announced “special announcement” will take place on February 15.

On Saturday, Trump told WIS-TV in South Carolina that Haley had contacted him earlier in the week to get his opinion. Trump referred to her earlier promise not to challenge him, but said he didn’t try to stop her.

“She said she would never run against me because I was the greatest president, but people change their opinions, and they change what’s in their hearts. So I said, if your heart wants to do it, you have to go do it.”

51-year-old Haley was Trump’s U.N. a representative from 2017 to 2018. From 2011 to 2017, she presided as governor of South Carolina.

Last week, Haley appeared on Hannity and hinted at a bid for president, stating that politics needs a generational shift.

On January 20, 2025, the day of the inauguration, Joe Biden and Donald Trump, the two front-runners in both parties, would be 82 and 78 years old, respectively. While Trump doesn’t appear to be aging or slowing down, Biden seems to be suffering from dementia.
