The gas appliances you use most regularly were the first to be targeted by the Biden administration.
Small companies are at danger as the Regime now aims for their ceiling fans. The major goal of this program, like with the others that have come before it, is to forward the Regime’s extreme “climate change” agenda.
Fox Business reported on Friday that the Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing a new rule that would require ceiling fans to be more “energy efficient.”
The proposed rule, dated June 22, and issued by the DOE, claims to reduce energy use by “a significant amount” in the United States.
DOE’s analyses indicate that the proposed energy conservation standards for ceiling fans would save a significant amount of energy.
Newsweek reports that the new rule’s comment period ended on August 21 and that the Department of Energy is currently analyzing all comments, statistics, and information submitted during that time.
Republicans on the Small Business Committee wrote a letter to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm on Thursday, slamming the new rule and explaining how it might put up to 30 percent of small ceiling manufacturers out of business.
This rule would require numerous small business fan manufacturers to redesign their products and may put between 10 and 30 percent of small business ceiling fan manufacturers out of business. It appears that the Department of Energy (DOE) may not have properly considered small entities during this rulemaking process.
A representative for the DOE retaliated against the GOP, making questionable claims about the ideas’ effect on cost savings to taxpayers and air pollution.
These proposed standards, which are required by Congress, wouldn’t take effect until 2028, would give Americans more energy efficient options to choose from, and would save hardworking taxpayers up to $369 million per year, while substantially reducing harmful air pollution — a crucial fact that some have conveniently failed to mention.
However, according to the DOE’s own research, the cost of purchasing the energy-efficient fans would rise by around $10 and it might take up to four years for the increase in cost to be repaid by savings on electricity bills. Customers may not see any savings at all, given the Regime’s propensity for lying to the public.
However, the research conducted by the Energy Department itself disproves the Republican Party’s claims about the astronomical cost to small businesses. Annual development costs for the manufacturers designing this new machinery are estimated at a stunning $86.6 million.
Liberal elitists will likely avoid harm as millions of regular Americans continue to bear the brunt of the Regime’s disastrous “climate change” plan. They are exempt from the regulations because of this.
