A TSA official, Maxine McManaman, who serves as the Assistant Federal Security Director, has been apprehended in Atlanta by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The arrest took place on December 28, based on an outstanding warrant issued by the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. The allegations involve McManaman and an alleged accomplice, Delroy Chambers Sr., who are accused of exploiting a relative with dementia by falsifying documents in their names, as reported by the Port St. Lucie Police.
Florida authorities assert that the pair engaged in the forgery of signatures on a quitclaim deed, facilitating the transfer of property ownership from the relative to themselves. The alleged victim, whose property was involved, could not have executed the quitclaim deed as claimed, as police investigations revealed the individual’s presence in Atlanta on the specified date.
Chambers, McManaman’s purported accomplice, had previously been arrested on December 20 in Port St. Lucie. He faced charges including two counts of exploiting an elderly or disabled adult, simple neglect, and two counts of forgery. Chambers later secured release on bond.
As for McManaman, she is currently confronted with a third-degree felony charge for forgery.
Allegedly, she was taken into custody upon arriving in Atlanta following an international flight.
As per local reports, McManaman has been a TSA employee since November 2002, occupying a managerial role at the airport.
“TSA holds its employees to the highest professional and ethical standards and has no tolerance for misconduct on or off duty. Any employee who fails to meet our fundamental ethical standards is held accountable.”
Pending a law enforcement investigation, McManaman has been placed on leave and is presently detained at Clayton County Jail in Jonesboro, Georgia.
