A celebration in King City, California took a tragic turn on March 3rd, as three individuals wearing masks began shooting at the location where the birthday party was underway. The gunfire injured eleven individuals, resulting in four fatalities.
The King City Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at a residence located on the 200 block of N. 2nd Street around 6 P.M. on Sunday. Upon arrival, officers found three men in the front yard of the house suffering from gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, all three men were pronounced dead shortly after the officers arrived at the scene.
A woman who was also shot at the residence was transported to Mee Memorial Hospital but succumbed to her injuries later on. Additionally, at least seven other individuals who were present were taken to Natividad Medical Center with gunshot wounds, but medical professionals anticipate their full recovery. Local authorities mentioned that all the deceased individuals were adults. Further details about the victims have not been disclosed at this time.
Authorities reported that during a birthday celebration at the residence, a silver Kia arrived, and three men emerged, shooting at the attendees. After the attack, the suspects returned to their vehicle and fled the scene. The King City Police Department described the shooters as wearing dark clothing and masks concealing their identities.
Regrettably, this quadruple homicide is just one among several shooting incidents that unfolded at regular gatherings over the weekend. In Missouri, two individuals were shot outside a high school basketball game, while in Mississippi, a nightclub shooting left 12 people injured.
Residents are urged to contact 911 immediately upon sighting the suspects or a silver Kia resembling the description provided, rather than confronting them, as they are deemed armed and dangerous. Anyone with further information regarding the shooting or the suspects is encouraged to contact Sergeant Josh Partida of the King City Police Department at 831-386-5988, or utilize the WeTip hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME.
