Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-SC) proposed legislation is the subject of blatant White House lies in an effort to energize the liberal base ahead of the November elections. Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary for the White House, refused to even mention that the proposed limitation only took effect after 15 weeks, referring to it instead as a national prohibition and declining to indicate how many weeks Joe Biden would accept.
But during his speech at a DNC Committee event, Biden demonstrated how irrational and radical he is on the matter by lying about both Graham’s legislation and the Catholic Church’s position on abortion.
These exclusions are there in the Graham plan, as Biden must be aware. Biden is therefore acting dishonestly at all times, even at a DNC fundraiser. But he is lying to Democrats as well in order to incite them to get out and vote in the midterm elections. It’s a crude and repulsive strategy. “Practicing Catholics,” some
When Biden asserts that Graham’s plan is more limiting than the Catholic Church’s position, he is also lying through his teeth.
Additionally, the U.S. Graham’s proposal has even received support from the USCCB, refuting Biden’s assertion.
“I support your efforts with the ‘Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act’ to protect the right to life of unborn babies from 15 weeks’ gestation. The Catholic Church remains clear and consistent in asserting that true justice demands the right to life, the most basic human and civil right, for every child, from conception onward. No person or government has the right to take the life of any innocent human being, regardless of its stage of development.”
At this point, Biden has no qualms about doing anything he can to keep the Democrats in power, even if it involves fabricating the Church’s viewpoint. But in trying to inflame the base, he exposed how radical he and the Democrats are, and in the process, he probably inflamed Catholics, who are a significant voting bloc.
