Female Border Patrol Agent Violently Assaulted By Illegal Immigrant

Over the weekend, an illegal immigrant viciously assaulted a female Border Patrol agent while she was conducting an arrest, according to authorities.

According to a statement from Customs and Border Protection, the migrant attacked the unnamed agent when she was carrying the individual into custody on Saturday in Arizona, bruising her face and hands. ​

She fought the assailant despite her wounds until assistance came.

The statement reads, “On March 4, 2023, at approximately 4:00 a.m., a U.S. Border Patrol agent assigned to the Tucson Sector took a subject into custody near Foudy Road and State Route 92, after investigating the subject’s illegal entry into the U.S. While being placed in a service vehicle, the subject assaulted the agent, injuring the agent’s face and hands.”

Medical care was given to the female agent. ​​

The FBI and Cochise County Sheriff’s Office are conducting an investigation, according to the statement.

CBP figures show that 217 border agents have already been attacked during the fiscal year 2023, which runs from October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023.

Agents were attacked on a total of 40 occasions in January, 49 in December, 55 in November, and 73 in October.

692 police officers were attacked during the 2022 fiscal year.
