Former GOP Candidate Arrested for Murder

A past professional wrestler who participated in two Republican congressional primary elections has been apprehended for homicide. Daniel Rodimer stands accused of fatally assaulting a man in a Las Vegas hotel room last October following a dispute regarding drugs. Despite being released on bail, Rodimer refutes the accusation. However, a potentially incriminating message from his spouse appears to be compelling evidence against him.

On October 29, 2023, Rodimer was reportedly reveling in a suite at the Hilton Resorts World located on the Las Vegas Strip when he purportedly discovered 47-year-old Christopher Tapp attempting to provide cocaine to his daughter. According to one witness, they overheard Rodimer addressing Tapp, “If you ever talk to my daughter again, I’ll ******** kill you.”

Subsequently, two distinct loud sounds were heard. Additionally, another individual reported witnessing Rodimer forcefully knocking Tapp to the ground, causing his head to strike a table en route, followed by multiple punches. However, a third account suggests that Tapp accidentally slipped and hit his head on the table while falling.

However, the pivotal evidence revolves around a couple of text messages sent to Rodimer by his spouse. “I watched you almost murder somebody, and I had to take your ******** hands off from his neck as he laid there.” Another message said, “I watched you murder somebody, let that sink in, you psychopath.”

Rodimer has faced previous allegations of assault; in a 2011 battery incident, he confessed to assaulting an individual at a Florida restaurant and subsequently underwent anger management training.

Rodimer has participated in Republican primaries on two occasions. Initially, in 2018, he contested the Nevada State Senate seat but narrowly lost to Valerie Weber. Subsequently, in 2021, he vied in the primary for a special election in Texas’s 6th Congressional District. Despite his campaign, during which Rodimer, originally from New Jersey, faced widespread ridicule for adopting a fake southern accent, he finished in 11th place with a mere 2.6% of the vote.

Rodimer turned himself in to the Las Vegas Police Department on March 6th. He was subsequently released after posting a $200,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 10th.
