According to independent journalist Ali Bradley, a Texas sheriff allegedly took matters into his own hands when he allegedly drove detained illegal immigrants BACK to Mexico.
Kinney County The Sheriff’s Office is taking matters into its own hands by returning illegal immigrants to Mexico. After a smuggling pursuit/rollover, Sheriff Brad Coe claims he summoned US Border Patrol to come pick up 4 unharmed migrants who were engaged.
The sheriff claims that BP agents refused to accept them because the ER department had not approved them, yet KCSO was unable to transport the migrants to the ER because there were insufficient officers to remain with them while they were being examined.
After a suspected smuggling car his officers were following crashed on Wednesday morning, the migrants were found. Inside the car, five illegal immigrants were discovered, including a lady who required medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff claimed that Border Patrol officials had informed him that in order to detain the four additional migrants, a hospital visit for a medical evaluation was required. The four unharmed migrants had turned down all medical assistance, according to Coe.
“So I can’t let them walk the streets. I can’t say, ‘Hey, go, be free.’ Because I still have to protect the Constitution and protect the people in the county. To let them go, undocumented, unaccounted for, just go because of a policy, I couldn’t do it.”
At least one civil rights lawyer was interested in learning more, as was to be anticipated. According to reports, the sheriff of Kinney County, Texas, today escorted 4 migrants to Mexico. Local and state governments are not legally permitted to deport people.
“We @ACLUTX & our partners @TXCivilRights are demanding info from Kinney County on this stop & any policy of sending migrants to Mexico.”
