Late on Monday night, former president Donald Trump criticized the January 6th committee in a post on Truth Social.
In addition to praising Tucker Carlson for “one of the biggest ‘scoops’ as a reporter in U.S. history” the former president demanded that all J6 committee members face legal action.
A great deal of concern has been raised regarding the sincerity of the January 6th committee since Carlson’s publication of numerous previously unreleased video from the demonstration on Monday.
“The Unselect Committee LIED, and should be prosecuted for their actions,” Trump added strongly. The Unselect Committee, according to the 45th president, “has now unequivocally been stamped as CRIMINAL FABRICATORS OF THIS MOST IMPORTANT DAY.”
Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (R-CA), both Republicans, were singled out by Trump as having “failed on security.”
Trump said that Carlson’s program on Brian Sicknick was “sad and difficult to watch,” adding that “‘Trump’ and most others are totally innocent, LET THEM GO FREE, NOW!
The footage was given access to Carlson “so that our Country, and indeed the World, can see what really went on during the January 6th events.”
“A whole new, and completely opposite, picture has now been indelibly painted. Nancy & Mitch were a disaster on Security.”
