Jen Psaki, a former press secretary for the White House and a current MSNBC contributor, offered a caution to Democrats who are dismissing the late President Donald Trump.
Trump is still the favorite to win the GOP nomination, according to Psaki, who appeared on Meet the Press, because he ‘has some evil charisma that helped him win the nomination’ in the past.
“We’ve been here before with them. Is this time different?,” Chuck Todd asked.

Yamiche responded by saying that the fact that the topic even needs to be raised demonstrates the former president Trump’s continued influence on the party and his appeal to some members of the base, particularly the ardent MAGA supporters.
“The fact that they could still win primaries, that to me tells me that there’s something to the fact that he could still win the nomination. We’ve been here before. This feels familiar to me. We were here, and the Access Hollywood tape, when everyone found out. That they had a daughter and a mother, and were saying that they didn’t want former President Trump to be the nominee. We were here again after January 6 when we saw people leaving the White House in droves.”
Jen Psaki said, “I mean, I think Democrats and sane Republicans underestimate Trump at their own peril because in order for Trump not to win the nomination there has to be a better alternative. That’s how primaries work, right? Ron DeSantis, this man – he’s either the savior or he’s currently at his peak.”

Donald Trump launched his third bid for the White House just 19 days ago.
Already, his campaign — and the Republican Party — are being tested as he refuses to disavow the antisemitic and racist part of the party he has aligned himself with for years. pic.twitter.com/7xj2ODOf3v
She also mentioned that before Donald Trump chose Mike Pence to be his running mate, he wasn’t exactly setting the political world on fire. So, who is the alternative, we ask?
Trump’s ability to project an evil aura helped him secure the nomination. The selection procedure takes time. What will occur in this situation? And in my opinion, no one should undervalue him.
