Texas Deploys Special Forces As Biden Fails To Protect Southern Border

Texas Governor Greg Abbott delivered a speech on Monday regarding the migrant situation, with a focus on border security as the COVID-era migration policy known as Title 42 is set to expire soon. Governor Abbott held a press conference at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to discuss Texas’ measures to address what he sees as President Joe Biden’s border crisis.

According to a press release from his office, Governor Abbott stated that the Biden administration predicts about 13,000 people will illegally cross the border every day once Title 42 is no longer in effect. In response, he announced that Texas would mobilize up to 10,000 National Guard members and 1,200 troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

During his speech regarding the migrant crisis on Monday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott revealed his plans to establish a new group called the “Texas Tactical Border Force.” This group will consist of National Guard members with specialized training to be stationed in critical areas along the border. Their primary task will be to intercept, repel, and redirect migrants attempting to enter the United States illegally.

This additional measure is part of Texas’ efforts to address what Governor Abbott calls President Joe Biden’s ongoing border crisis. Along with the deployment of up to 10,000 National Guard members and 1,200 troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the creation of the Texas Tactical Border Force aims to strengthen the state’s border security.
