According to a startled witness, Missouri officers shot a lady five times as she attempted to flee her arrest for a suspected armed carjacking, despite the fact that she had revealed that she was unarmed and told them that she was pregnant.
Leonna Hale, 26, was shot by authorities responding to complaints of an armed carjacking around 8 p.m., according to police.
When authorities pulled him up, the male driver fled, and Hale was shot as she attempted to run as well, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, which is investigating the officer-involved incident.
However, the witness who videotaped it said on Facebook that Hale “put her hands up and was talking to them to show she didn’t have a weapon in her hand!!!” before turning to flee. ”
The witness, who only went by the name Shédanja, also told the Kansas City Star that Hale only refused to get down because she had informed officers she was pregnant.
“She was going to cooperate, but she got scared and ran down there, where they shot her, which isn’t right!”
“She exclaimed at the scene in her video.” Shédanja stated that Hale had informed her that there was a pistol in the car. A pistol was later discovered nearby, according to police.
However, Shédanja stated to the Star that “she did not pull out a weapon on them.” “She wasn’t even holding a stick in her hand.”
“One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.” It stuck with me because it didn’t stop. Shédanja told the Star, “They shot five times.”
“I froze when I saw her fall to the ground,” she claimed, adding that her three boys, ages 1, 10, and 13, were all frightened by the incident.
Interim Chief Joseph Mabin of the Kansas City Police Department told KCTV that his officers “never want to be in these types of situations.”
“This is a weekend off.” Friendship time has arrived. “This is not the time for violence,” he said on Friday.
