ABC Suspends Whoopi Goldberg Over Holocaust Comments

ABC News president Kim Godwin released a statement about Whoopi Goldberg’s remarks on holocaust, “Effective immediately, I am suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for her wrong and hurtful comments. While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments. The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends and communities.”

On Monday, Goldberg stated that Holocaust is not about race. She said that it is about man’s inhumanity to man. Her statement left her colleagues aghast.

Co-host Ana Navarro told Goldberg that Holocaust is about white supremacist going after Jews and Gypsies. To which Goldberg replied that those are two white groups of people.

Jewish organizations slammed her remarks, accusing her of downplaying Jewish hardship.

During her appearance on “The Late Show,” Goldberg attempted to justify her remarks.
