After the release of text messages showing his wife, Ginni Thomas, urging then-White House top of staff Mark Meadows to adhere to efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, the Women’s March is calling for the impeachment of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
The discoveries that Ginni Thomas campaigned for the collapse of our democracy are disqualifying, not only for her as a human being of any decency, but also for her husband, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, according to Women’s March Executive Director Rachel O’ Leary Carmona.
From the moment he was appointed to the Supreme Court, Thomas has acted more like his wife, a professional conservative activist, than a rational jurist. Carmona’s statement continues, he is utterly compromised, conflicted, and crooked, and he must be impeached immediately.
News outlets obtained 29 text messages exchanged between Ginni Thomas and Meadows on Thursday, as part of the over 2,320 communications Meadows handed to the House select committee investigating the Capitol disturbance on Jan. 6, 2021.
Ginni Thomas reportedly said in one message, referring to former President Trump, “Help This Great President stand firm, Mark!!! You are the leader, with him, who is standing for America’s constitutional governance at the precipice. The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History.”
On November 24, Meadows wrote to Thomas, “This is a fight of good versus evil. Evil always looks like the victor until the King of Kings triumphs. Do not grow weary in well doing. The fight continues. I have staked my career on it. Well at least my time in DC on it.”
The claims have reignited debate about a January court decision in which the Supreme Court rejected Trump’s attempt to keep his administration’s documents hidden from a House committee on January 6. Thomas was the only member of the Supreme Court who sided with the former president.
